For sound environmental and safety management the Danzer Group decided to implement a comprehensive management system according to the ISO 14001:2004 standard. It bases on an environmental vision which is publicly available in the form of the environmental policy. It ensures legal conformance, pollution prevention and adherence to best industry practice. David R. Webb determines which activities create significant environmental impacts and takes procedures into action in order to reduce negative impacts to the environment during production.

The David R. Webb facilities in Edinburgh and Williamsport establish objectives annually and targets to improve its environmental performance. They have implemented controls and regularly measure. Thus Webb improves the management system and reduces environmental impacts over time. This is regularly assessed by an independent third party auditor (SGS of Switzerland).

ISO 14001:2004 is applicable to all industry sectors and can be adapted for use in a wide range of countries to reflect particular regulatory and environmental conditions. All production facilities and Procurement at the North American subsidiaries including David R. Webb, Interforest, Bradford Forest and Claremont Forest were certified for compliance with this acknowledged standard for environmental management. It comprises three sawmills, four veneer plants and two lumber facilities at nine locations in the United States and Canada.

Our procurement of timber from North American Species has also been certified to ISO14001:2004. It addresses the utilization of forests and the sourcing of timber
